Vladimir Corn Biography
The author was born and lives in Russia in the city of Irkutsk. The theme of the "Pogatyans" is now insanely popular in fantastic literature, especially among novice authors. But the cycle of Vladimir Korn makes a pretty good impression precisely because of a non-standard approach to the “enthusiasm”. The protagonist, Artois, is not endowed with innate magical abilities, he was not born under the sign of the three hundred of the first moon and is now not elected.
Just the fact that he is an ordinary person, albeit endowed with knowledge close to the encyclopedic, and clings. And he does not become the ruler of the universe overnight. Everything in his life is earned by labor, blood and then. Well, with a drop of good luck. The “falling” world appears non -standard. Rather, non -standardity lies just in its standard.
There are no dragons with brave riders, nor formidable and cunning magicians, nor bearded elves with witty dwarves. This is the world of "cloak and swords." In general, the entire element of fiction lies in the very fact of "entry". And the story of Artoet de Coyne, although it does not abound in exciting plot passages, but still holds in relative stress.
The protagonist goes to the distant peak of five books, and the author submits his entire hard path to consideration. Perhaps it was really interesting to me only to the fifth of that, in the rest, it all boiled down to the fact that Artoet overcame the maximum number of difficulties and went out the winner. Unfortunately, the cycle cannot boast with colorful characters.
I could only cause interest and empathy with me, the main character and Baron Erich Gordner. The rest of the characters, even playing an important role in the plot, create the impression of the extras. The main disadvantages of the cycle include excessive pathos of individual episodes. Not all heroes of cheap series say so, not like real people! A small amount of truly dynamic episodes is also fragmented.
One gets the impression that the author specially avoids them, but it is not clear why. In general, the patient is rather alive than dead. The Artoet's cycle will not become a revelation for the reader, but it will not hit the mud in the mud. The cycle that everything in life is earned by painstaking work, and during this work we must in no case forget about humanity.
If all five books have passed quite evenly for me, and there was no desire not to sleep at night for an interesting episode, then the epilogue still hooked. Really hooked. The author managed to choose such words that helped to recall the main milestones of the life of the hero, his friends and enemies. But the most important thing is how he was able to change the whole world without fireballs and two -handed swords.
