Biography of the policeman
Despite the most severe injury, for many years he hid his ailment for the sake of one - to serve for the good of the people and the Motherland. He was a policeman of the patrol service and has repeatedly been in extreme situations: he participated in a fight with the leadership of the Lianozovo group of hooligans, then stood for the honor of a citizen and grabbed a bulk maniac. Our hero's name is Valentin Nikolaevich Sokolov, now he is a retired police foreman.
Next year he will have an anniversary, he will be 90 years old. Being a policeman, Valentin Sokolov was awarded the sign “Excellence in the police”, the medal “For impeccable service” of three degrees. How did it happen that a person continued to serve with such an injury?! Valentin Nikolaevich began his military path during the Great Patriotic War in January.
In the year in battles near Vitebsk, he was injured. In the same year, he returned home on crutches by a disabled person of the second group. He had a serious injury: “A severe wound of the right thigh by a broken bullet, deforming arthrosis of the knee joint and shortening the foot by 3 cm.” But in order to stay in law enforcement, he invented and designed a special manifesting device that blocked the limitation.
Of course, his desire to serve and benefit society was the goal of his whole life. He sacrificed many and suffered a lot in order to stign to survive all the years of service. For almost three decades, no one knew about this and was not aware of, except for close relatives. Each time he could be “exposed”, it was transferred to another police unit. But all the secret sooner or later becomes clear.
After his attempts, he still received a military ID, but immediately after that, Sokolov was returned to the former military disability group.
39 years have passed since his retirement, but he still continues to social activities. Since the year he was a member of the Council of Veterans of the Guards Army, and then the Guards Rifle Division. He carried out great work on military-patriotic education of youth, took part in the twelve all-Union ranges of pioneers-Smirnovites of different cities of the USSR.
Valentin Nikolaevich Sokolov has a sophisticated creative nature, one of his favorite hobbies is painting. A collection of paintings written by him hangs at his house, and his two paintings were adopted by the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War on Poklonnaya Gora, nine - the Kostroma Museum of the Kostroma Museum, sixteen - the museum of the city of Kologriva.
And he handed over some of the paintings to several school museums.
