Years of searches, formation, ascent - they accommodated a lot. It begins much earlier - from the time when the decision matures in the soul to devote itself to the work of an unusual, exciting and difficult, to choose an unknown, possibly complete failure and disappointment. The path requiring great faith in its vocation and colossal hard work. In large families, children do not indulge. Vladimir was the eldest, except him - another seven.

It was necessary to help parents. After eight years - a craft school. I chose the specialty of an electrician. He did not abandon the school, studied in the evening deck - he understood how important it is to get an education. Army service, strengthening the nature of the eight -year experience of an electrician, the school of machine operators and the work of a bulldozer on the virgin lands - its first steps in life.

Vladimir turned out to be a good voice. Everyone sang in the family, especially the mother. And of course, everyone remembered maternal songs. Of the eight children, two were in the family of Shcherbakovs: the younger brother of Yuri, also a tenor, followed the trail of Vladimir-studied at the Saratov Conservatory with the same F. Harzman, became a professional singer.

Another brother began to study at a music school. It is known that a beautiful voice, artistic talent distinguishes a person from the usual circle of people. Increased attention, early praise can quietly take the unoperfighted youth into the world unreal, ghostly. In the world, frankly, difficult, sometimes cruel. The path of Vladimir Shcherbakov to the opera scene was difficult and at the same time is common for our days.

Vladimir Shcherbakov, although he came to the conservatory after the end of the evening deck, had absolutely no musical education, did not know the basics of vocal affairs. There is no need to talk about cultural horizons. This was the case when everything depended on the student: either he would steep his life and what he did not receive to the conservatory in the sense of knowledge, culture, he would be able to make up for, or he will have nothing to tell people with a concert, theatrical stage.

Harzman with V. If everything was so simple, the novice singer at best could only replenish considerable ranks of the average in quality of baritones.

Started with the simplest. Thoroughly learned, the exercises were sung - vocalizes. The teacher and student, as they say, found each other. The most important thing that they came together is devotion to art. Faina Evseevna considered this almost the most important in her influence on the student. And Vladimir, who searched for supports in his desire on the stage, the teacher's care gave new forces.

Constant inquisitiveness, endless susceptibility, willingness to fulfill all comments always distinguished Vladimir Shcherbakov. Until now, coming to Saratov, he is not hesitation for his beloved teacher for advice. The singer developed quickly. In full, he manifested not just a musical, but specific hearing - vocal - a true feeling of the quality of sound, brightness, density, the wealth of Temra.

The student sat in the class of almost all his free time and there is no thin one without good! In the fourth year of the conservatory of Vladimir Shcherbakov, they took an interns to the Saratov support theater. And here the influence of the teacher could easily get lost, in some ways to neutralize: theater concertmasters, conductors in many ways offered their own: the acceptance of the party, spit, rehearsals, performances-there were so many new ones that it was really possible to be confused.

Vladimir remained faithful to himself: first the teacher, his advice, instructions - then everything else.

The main conductor of the theater I. Alterner immediately noticed the greed of a young artist for singing. In the fifth year, Vladimir received a party for his diploma performance: Hose - a long -standing dream, the most difficult opera role. Hose, performed by Vladimir Shcherbakov, first looked rather rude, even a peasant-ugly guy, warmly experiencing life failures.
