Sviridov’s style has changed significantly in the early stages of his work. His first works were written in the style of classical, romantic music and were similar to the works of German romantics. Later, many works of Sviridov were written under the influence of his teacher Dmitry Shostakovich, but also, for example, in the first batch for piano, the composer’s attention to the musical language of Paul Hindemite is noticeable.

For a composer who professes classical musical forms, the choice of the main creative direction was also unconventional - vocal music, song, romance. Although the sonatas and the piano trio, awarded the Stalin Prize, were written, and the music for dramatic performances, and even the only symphony.
