Biography of London
True, I hoped to read the adventure work on the marine theme, but received a psychological and philosophical drama, no more and no less. Humphrey hit the ship to the Wolf Larsen as a result of the collapse of the vessel, on which he was unprotected to get. To begin with, Humphrey van Weiden is a young man of aristocratic origin, he is smart, well -read, intellectual, a sort of Mr. Beloruchka, who himself does not know how.
And by irony, he enters the ship to the wolf Larsen, a very cynical, cruel person, with philosophical views. We have a confrontation between the heroes, because Larsen refused Humphrey to go ashore, and wanted to make a man out of him, and therefore took him to catch cats. Of course, all the idealistic ideas of Humphrey are crumbling about life, and the hero is very very fascinated by us.
It literally grows before our eyes, and at the end of the book in front of us is a man, which is already versatile, tightly standing on our feet. I liked the book, not in vain in philosophy is “excellent” in the test. It was interesting to observe the struggle of the harsh materialist Larsen and the tender idealist Humphrey. Honestly, I do not agree with any of the heroes, but it was no less interesting to read.
I especially emphasize the end ... As the wolf Larsen finished life, this is just a blow to the very heart. So he died “in Larsenovsky”, London acted very cruelly, but this death is suitable for the hero .. It is worth emphasizing the extraordinary liveliness of the heroes.
They are very “convex”, understandable, characteristic! They are spelled out perfectly perfectly, as if during the reading time I met real people. And as the sea is described ... Sometimes I covered me with waves with all the heroes, I felt the salt on my lips, and the wind in my hair, and a stroke from the storm. The author created an incredibly real picture!
In general, London is wonderful, I will continue my acquaintance! Read more Svetlana on the book: Time-no, Jack London is one of the first writers whom I read in childhood, and during the time the thoughts and feelings of his heroes did not lose their relevance in real life, unfortunately I believe in the words too much, and people who now live like me London are not at all people, as I understand it on the pages of his novel, I did not know the author himself, it was not by chance that the author himself wrote his own Fate in the novel, I advise everyone to read this book, but do not look for these types in modern Russia, unfortunately.
Read more Eugene on the book: White Fang in the center work is the life of a half -frir. It is life, despite the fact that the hero is not a person. Life in all its diversity. It is amazing that Jack London managed to describe the hero’s life to the smallest detail. Whether another writer in his place - perhaps the implementation of the idea would not have attracted such attention to itself.
An attempt to penetrate the psychology of the animal was a success. Jack London recreated the world of half -water, the existing parallel to human reality, but closely in contact with it. And through the perceptions of the events taking place with a white fang, the reader inevitably reveals for himself new facets in the human characters described in the book, and in his own soul.
It is for the sake of these discoveries that this book is worth reading. Read more Eugene for the book: the sea wolf is a book of confrontations. Confrontations of nature and man. It is these words that set the tone for the development of the plot. And this book will help to think about some important issues that we are faced with in everyday life, but we do not always find time to think about them deeper than momentary thoughts.
I sincerely recommend! Read more.
