These wonderful lines belong to the talented Udmurt poet and journalist Eric Batuev, whose life 10 years ago - March 31, at the age of 32, tragically broke off. Valera was an outstanding person. Everyone who talked to him says that "he made himself." Born on September 23, in the small Udmurt village of Simanki Zavyalovsky district, which was subsequently erased from the map as "unpromising".

The father was gone when he was several months old. It was raised by his mother, Anna Filippovna, who worked as a primary school teacher.

Valera lived in some kind of world. He read at the age of five. He went to school from the age of six and began to write poetry. From the school, I tried myself in journalism. He sent his first materials to the Pioneer Truth. But the editorial board of the children's newspaper did not publish his thoughts, sending the answer: “He took up deep philosophical topics too early,” recalls Anna Filippovna.

In the elementary grades, he read and composed poems a lot, said that he would certainly become a writer. He graduated from eight classes, went to the city of Mozhzhu in a veterinary college - he loved animals. Here he attended classes of the literary circle of the Mozhginsky pedigree. Having finished his studies, he returned to his mother in the village of Petukhi, where he worked as a paramedic.

In the year he joined the army. He served as a windfeldsh on the border in the Khabarovsk Territory. After the army, he went to Moscow in the year and immediately entered the Moscow State University at the Faculty of Journalism, which graduated from M. in Moscow, Valera worked, otherwise there would be nothing to live for. Friends recall that he was a janitor to earn an apartment. Even during his studies, he began to be published in different capital publications, more often his articles could be seen in the newspaper New Time.

It is no accident that even before receiving the diploma, he was hired by the AiF newspaper - then he was already a famous journalist. Then he worked in the Moscow Komsomolets, in the Moscow News. In addition to these newspapers, he maintained contact with the “independent newspaper”, was a parliamentary correspondent, talked with State Duma deputies, especially from Udmurtia.

Eric Batuev was the youngest member of the Union of Writers of Udmurtia. At 24, he became a member of the Union of Writers of Russia, not having a single poetic collection in his hands, only an idea to release a collection of poems "Nakedness". During his lifetime, four collections of his verses were published: two - in the Udmurt language and two in Russian. In the year, the first collection of poems in the Udmurt language "Nakedness" was published.

In the year, a collection of poems in Russian "The Shadow of My Life", and in the year - "Love leaves from the heart." Five years later, the Night Rainbow collection was published in Udmurt, and in the year, after death, it was thanks to the incredible efforts of Anna Filippovna that the last collection of poems, prose and journalism Eric - the “ribbed shores of the soul” saw the light.

Eric Batuev’s poems are sincere and honest. Literary critics note that his lyrics are most often built on associations. This is both attractive and interesting. In his verses are mainly rural themes. He loved the village, probably for an ingenuous life, for simplicity in the communication of the villagers, for the fact that he was born in the village and grew up among disinterested people.

And the topic of love ... "touches and impresses how the young poet speaks of love, woven organically and firmly with the fact that there is a native land, native nature," writes the poet Rimm Kazakov in the preface to the second book of the young poet. Valera was a modest person. And even his colleagues did not know that he was also a member of the Union of Writers of Russia.

They wrote about him enthusiastically: "This is a new Udmurt poetry." Erica was considered a representative of the postmodern wave of Udmurt poetry. But in recent years he often wrote about the war. He was not, as they say, a jacket-cabinet journalist. He was a real hero-journalist. Its subjects were interethnic armed conflicts. He visited "hot spots" more than once. The Chechens asked to release the book. They said that this was their life path,” Eric said in an interview. It didn’t matter to him what nationality it was important that he was an interesting person. He acutely felt injustice, someone else's pain and knew how to listen. And the same Chechens later wrote that Batuyev is the only honest journalist in Russia ...

His reports from "hot spots" were sincere, piercing and bitter. Dozens of times in recent years he visited the war. The memory of him is alive. The administration of Zavyalovsky district established the annual premium named after V. Batuev, it is awarded to very worthy people. The Union of Journalists of Udmurtia also established the annual Batuev Prize in the field of journalism.

For his last report from Palestine, “The Promised War” Eric became the laureate of the journalistic prize. Batuev Eric with the Kurds Eric Batuev also wrote about the Kurds. He visited Kurdistan several times, even talked with partisans in the mountains. Erica Batuev’s notes and other journalistic materials about the Kurds and Kurdistan, which were published in the central print media in different years, were included in his last book “The Ribbed Boats of the Soul” Udmurtia, but the fact that almost all the topics that Eric Batuev affects in his notes on the Kurdish are relevant today. He always selected the topic of future publications carefully and knew quite well, raised only sharp and current issues.
