The Western air group, subsequently renamed the Separate Guards Regiment of the GVF bombing the enemy, exported the Soviet wounded, made raids to the German rear, helping the actions of the partisans. Here, our pilots showed what the small defenseless are capable of inaudibly, reducing the gas, they crept up to the target and dumped incendiary bombs on the Nazis.

These were bags filled with a combustible mixture, they were made on their own, which the pilots were engaged. These “fiery bags” flashed, causing panic, smoked fascists from dugouts, lit warehouses with ammunition, at the same time exploring the deployment of the enemy’s troops. Then there was a retraining at short -term courses in Novosibirsk to a plane as part of the Guards Division of the GVF flew to the besieged Leningrad, to one of the terrible winters, delivered food, ammunition, exported the wounded.

In July, GO Vasily Alekseevich was sent to the responsible government task: as part of the special air group, Agon, provided assistance to the Yugoslav folk -free army, supplying the Yugoslav partisans to everything they needed - from weapons to diet. The pilot met the victory in Yugoslavia.

There was still work for them, Soviet pilots - individual groups of embittered enemies hid deep in the mountains: it was necessary to neutralize them. All these memories flashed in the memory of Vasily Alekseevich, all this was in his wonderful, bright, bold life. And today is Victory Day, a bright holiday, today Vasily Alekseevich will endure the sacred battle banner of the Guards Aviation Division.

Biographical certificate Vasily Alekseevich Shipilov was born on February 13 in the village of Verkhny Karachan now, the Gribanovsky district of the Voronezh region in the family of a worker. He graduated from six classes. From the years he served in the Red Army in military service. Flying from the airfields of the liberated regions of southern Italy through the Adriatic Sea, the group ensured communication and supply with the Yugoslav partisans and the troops of the People's Liberation Army of Yugoslavia.

As part of this group, he made combat sorties, of which 83 at night. He made 43 night landings on a hastily cleared sites in the mountains, delivered to the fighters Noah and partisans about tons of weapons and ammunition, took out the wounded. In the year, Senior Lieutenant Shipilov was dismissed and returned to civil aviation. For another 12 years he was the commander of the air ship, then worked at the airport.
