Christina Wood Biography

Dear Christina and Cecil, we are very glad to see you for an interview! Tell us how your summer has passed? Christina: Our summer was very saturated! We played at two festivals in Basel and Tallinn, and also traveled with our children. Cecile: Yes, we are engaged in children.

They gave them the opportunity to be in nature and free themselves from urban life this summer. We have a traditional question: at what point did you decide to connect your life with music and why? Christina: Maybe in early childhood. But not on purpose. Music was always my favorite pastime. Much later, already in adulthood and without any training, I decided to devote much more time to her, try to learn how to write music.

This was definitely always healing, spiritual salvation for me - to listen and create music. Cecile: From childhood, I begged my mother to allow me to play the piano. Since then I fell in love! Tell us about the name of your group? When and how did you come up with it? Kristina: We corresponded by e -mail, and I sent the name Kild, in honor of the island on the Gabride Islands, which greatly delighted me, and Cecile read it incorrectly and said to Kalaida.

We liked this name, and we looked for its ancient Greek meaning - “beauty in form” or “beauty embodied in life”. It turned out to be a very good option! What has become the most striking event in your career since the creation of the group? Kristina: For me, the most striking event is living concerts a recent performance in Warsaw was the most striking moment. There was such a wonderful audience!

Cecil: connection with so many people around the world. Sometimes it’s hard to believe in it. Do you listen to your own music in everyday life? Christina: Only during rehearsals! Otherwise, she gets tired! Cecile: No, I can't. Laughs but I'm very glad that every day more and more people open our music for themselves. Do you have your favorite songs from your own?

If so, what and why? Christina: I like the track that we created some time ago, called Power. I love how Cecile produced him. Cecile: I forgot about the existence of this song! I love Convolution. This is an unbridled feeling, and I just gave myself free rein. Your songs became soundtracks for such projects as John Wick, Explosive Blonde, Enchanted, Assassins Wu, Monarch and others. Have you watched the scenes in which your music sounded?

If so, what emotions did you experience while viewing? Christina: I watched some of them.

It still surprises me how much people like the scene from John Wick with Think. But if they like her, then this is great! We know that your tour in ARMS has passed not so long ago. Share your impressions of the tour! Kristina: The concerts were so fun, so much energy! I was pleased to finally meet with our fans and hear from them, which is our music means for them.

It seems that she gives peace and comfort to many listeners. We love it very much. Do you have a hobby? What do you like to do in your free time? Christina: Read! And swim. To stay alone. Not too exciting. Cecil laughs: for a long time it was mainly the music and raising of children, but this summer we swelled a little with the elders that it made me remember how much I like to swim in ponds.
