Biography of Gennady Snegirev
Dates of life: March 20 - Place of birth: City Moscow Famous works: “Inhabited Island”, “About deer”, “About Penguins”, “In the Reserve”, “First Sun”, “Bobrov hut” Gennady Yakovlevich Snegirev - Moskvich, born on March 20, his father died in the Stalin camps, his mother worked as a librarian at the steam depot of the October Iron Iron Roads. Since childhood, the boy found out what need and hunger are.
After an elementary school, he studied at a craft school then such educational institutions where teenagers were taught working professions. But the craft school did not have to finish: it was necessary to earn a living. At the age of thirteen, the future writer begins to work as a student of the drug at the Department of Ichtiology of Moscow University. And here he met a man who replaced his father, - scientist Lebedev Vladimir Dmitrievich.
Together - a teacher and a student - they treated fish, made excavations on Lake Peipsi, at the place of residence of the fishing tribes of a quarter period, studied fish bones and scales turned out to be scales, as if at a cut of a tree, you can determine how many years to fish. Here, at the university, G. Snegirev began boxing, although he was thin, if not skinny, short, became the champion of Moscow among young men of the lightest weight.
But, apparently, malnutrition and great physical exertion affected - at sixteen years he had a heart disease. Doctors said: lie down. It was a year, then he decided: it was better to go on ice swim, where few people went, and went with an ichthyological detachment on the Vityaz expeditionary vessel in the winter of G. from the expedition, the young researcher returned healthy.
Now he was interested in beavers. For a whole year, he caught these amazing animals in the deaf swamps of Belarus and in commodity wagons transported them to acclimatize to the influx of Irtysh, the Nazim River. I watched how they settled, live, and later described in the cycle of stories the Bob Khatka, Bobrovy Watchman, Bobrenok. And when he saw the results of his work, he went with a geological expedition to the central Sayan, to Tuva.
In the city of travelers, for two summers, they made an experimental flight to survival along the Siberian River Lena, starting with the upper reaches and ending with delta in the north of the Arctic. The experimenters not only survived, but also studied environmental changes in the Yakut taiga and the Lena River. The book “On the Cold River” was later written about this journey.
Then there were many more travels: to the Kuril Islands, Kamchatka, the White Sea, the Lake Lake Altai, in Buryatia, the Lenkoransky and Voronezh reserves, and there were many professions: with the reindeer herders of Chukotka, Snegirev drove deer, worked with a huntsman in the Kopetdag reserve of Southern Turkmenistan, but not one of them became a matter The animal world did not result in scientific works that were predicted by colleagues from the university.
The work of life was books that were born from oral stories to their friends and comrades in the sports section. The acquaintance - the poetess Veronika Tushnova - took the stories on the radio. There they were immediately taken and put on air. And at the same time, the editors from Detgiz were looking for new interesting writers, they advised them to pay attention to G. The first of his book - “Inhabited Island” - about the animal world of the Pacific Ocean has published many books in different genres - stories, stories, essays that enjoyed unchanged success and were re -reedured, because these books were re -filed, full of surprise and admiration Seeed in numerous travels, in fact, he is a real poet, he only writes his poems in prose.
There are no works of such crystal purity and touching transparency in our children's literature as that of Snegirev. He knew how to create such an unusual and memorable picture without deliberate beautifully, without deliberate beautifulnesses that you see far into the depths, much more than what he said. Gennady Snegirev was born in Moscow, in pure ponds. The child, apparently, was unusual, as they said earlier, “difficult” - finished three classes, but “I counted four, if only I left the evening school.” During the evacuation, he was subpanas.
There, near Chapaevsky, he forever remembered the beauty of the Volga steppe. Returning to Moscow, he accidentally got a job at the Department of Ichthyology of Moscow State University. There he received an education - communicating with old intellectuals, scientists, sages, experts in all in the world. Among them was Professor Lebedev, the famous polar pilot, Hero of the Soviet Union, an outstanding personality.
Do not get lost, not despair, look for a way out of any position - these lessons were useful to the young man very soon. He was engaged in boxing, and once went to battle with a sick tonsillitis, after which he received a serious complication of his heart. He lay down for two years, then rose, decided: “Pan either disappeared” - either recover or die. He was hired by a laboratory assistant to the “Vityaz”, a research vessel that went to study the deep-sea fish of the Kurilo-Kamchatka cavity.
The disease receded, and the numerous impressions of this and other travels soon became books for children.Among them are “Inhabited Island”, “Beaver hut”, “Pinagor”, “Kachurka”, “Lapanidus”, “smart porcupine”, “cunning chipmunk”, “little monster” and others. In the stories about the old hunting dog, about her funny friendship-maid with a little boy, the characters of the main characters are painted with short strokes.
Here is a Chebulak - a smart dog, a professional hunting: “Chebulak, as he sees a gun, immediately begins to walk around his grandfather and shows his teeth. He is so smiling. Grandfather cleans the gun, and the Chebulak smiles everything, because they always take him for hunting, but I don’t have it. ” Also, according to one expressive detail, one can make an idea of the character of the protagonist, a brave and inquisitive boy: “I helped my grandfather collect things in a bag.
First we put the blanket, then millet, and on top - a saucepan and a kettle. Grandfather put bread in a saucepan, and in a kettle - salt and an iron jar with matches. I asked why matches in a jar. Grandpa said: - If the bag falls into the river, everything will get wet, and the matches will be dry. You can light a fire and dry everything. Grandfather thought and said that we can also fall into the river.
Then I wanted to hunt even more. ” Not just the relations of the boy and the dog are developing, the hero understands that friendship must be earned, and in the end they become friends. Each new meeting with animals and birds gives the hero-child new knowledge and impressions. He saw a camel - he wanted to borrow the wool from him on the mittens, but scary: the camel is “big, shaggy.
Humps are tall, like bumps in a swamp, and hang to one side. The entire muzzle of the camel is covered with hoarfrost, and he chews something all the time with his lips - he probably wants to spit. ” The boy overcame the fear, climbed into a camel and gently cut a little wool - he trotted both humps. Then he thanked the camel - brought him bread with salt. And he had a new mittens - half red.
The meetings with the inhabitants of the kingdom of animals are unexpected, the words that the author finds for them are unexpected. I saw a frog in the swamp: “Little at all, but screams so loudly! I caught her, I hold it in my hand, but she does not even break out. Her back is gray, and the abdomen is red-red, like the sky above the forest where the sun set.
” The writer believes: "In order to write for children, and for adults, you need to know life very well and have a hearing in the language." Korf, O. Children about writers. XX century. I met him in Murzilka almost forty years ago. For almost forty years I have been listening to this incomparable narrator, I have been experiencing difficult happiness for almost forty years, drawing illustrations for his books.
Snegirev is an experienced man.
He swam the sailor on the Vityaz scientific ship, a Siberian Lena River passed on a boat under the boat, and participated in many expeditions. He had to ride in the northern deer, on a horse, on a donkey, on a camel, on Yak. He saw and survived a lot - in the sea, in the taiga, in the tundra, in the steppe. But in order to turn the impressions accumulated in travel into a literary work, you need to be a prospect or Bianchi - or Snegirev.
Since Snegirev has not written about nature yet, ”said Paustovsky. He writes very responsibly, very capacious. There are few words, but each is used in such a way that neither decrease nor add, so the prose of this writer fascinates like music. Many wonderful artists illustrated the books of Snegirev and, above all, of course, May Petrovich Miturich, who was with him in the Far East, in the Siberian taiga, and in Central Asia.
I am grateful to the fate that I also had to draw quite a lot to the stories of Gennady Yakovlevich. I had to go with him on an unforgettable trip to Turkmenistan, where the red land is thickets of pistachios, jearans, porcupines, crying jackals at night ... And the stars are huge! Snegirev writes how beautiful and powerful nature is, and how, in essence, it is fragile and defenseless, how to protect it.
Use her gifts, but take care of her, ”he says to his readers. Nikolai Ustinov, People's Artist of Russia Source: Murzilka.
